Horses and ponies

I like horses and ponies because I love their kind eyes. This book is fun. I glad to know their habit. There are 3 things that I surprised. First, I know about life in a herd. Everyone already has known that horses like to live in a herd because it feels safer than living on their own, so some wild animals kill horses. In a herd of horses, some keep watch while others eat. If one of the horses sees danger, it runs away. The others copy it and run away too. I know for the first time. A herd of wild horses usually has lots of female horses, called mares. Next, I surprised at they are keeping clean each other. When horses and ponies clean themselves, it is called grooming. They nibble their coats to get rid of dirt and bugs. These horses are grooming each other. This show they are friends. This horse is rolling to scratch its back. Rolling rubs itchy insects off its coat, too. People who keep pet horses groom them often. Most horses love being groomed. Finally, horse helps people to work a long time ago. We surprised at horse power. Before engines were invented, horses were needed for carrying people and pulling things. Instead of using tractors, farmers used powerful horses to help farm their fields. Strong horses pulled boats called barges along canals. They ate out of nosebags as they walked along. Before people had cars, they rode around in carriages pulled by horses.

“Who were the ancient Egyptians? Why did they build pyramids and how were mummies made? In this you’ll find the answer and lots more about life in ancient Egypt.”

I was exciting read the book because I’m interested in Egypt. Egypt is a hot country in Africa. The people who lived there thousands of years ago are called ancient Egyptians. There are 3 things that I can’t hear ever. At first, I understand about their home. Ancient Egyptian houses were made of dried mud and painted white. Houses had small windows to keep out the hot sun. They cook food and bake bread outside. I don’t know that they have bread then. And they slept on hard wooden beds, with wooden headrests instead of pillow. Next, I did not know that how to mummy. When an important person died, Egyptians wrapped their body so it didn’t rot. This is called making a mummy. First they took out the person’s insides and put them in pots. Then they packed the body in salt to dry it out. Next, they wrapped the body tightly in bandages. Finally, they put a mask on the mummy and laid it in a coffin. The person’s insides were kept in pots with lids like these. Each pot has a god’s head. Finally, I’m interested in they dress up in the most. Men and Woman wore loose, light skirts and dress that kept them cool. They decorated the clothes with rings, bracelets, necklaces and other jewels. Everyone wore make up too. They put lots of dark paint around their eyes. Most people shaved their heads to keep cool. Adults usually wore wigs. As you can see, I know about the Epyptians. I want to know about the Egypt.
